The Danish Bookkeeping Act sets requirements for your bookkeeping — not for your website. Tidoro is a website builder, not a bookkeeping system. Here is what sales data your Tidoro site creates, how it is stored, and how to get it into your accounts.
Bogføringsloven requires Danish businesses to record their transactions on an ongoing basis (Bogføringsloven §7), document the entries with supporting vouchers (Bogføringsloven §9) and retain accounting records for five years (Bogføringsloven §12). It is administered by Erhvervsstyrelsen, the Danish Business Authority. The requirements apply to your bookkeeping and the system you keep it in — not to your website or online store.
The digital bookkeeping requirement has been phased in:
Tidoro is a website builder. We are not a registered digital bookkeeping system (we are not listed in Erhvervsstyrelsen's public register of registered digital bookkeeping systems, cf. Bogføringsloven §20(1)), and we do not keep your books. Tidoro does not do bookkeeping, does not file VAT, does not generate SAF-T files and does not send e-invoices via NemHandel or PEPPOL. Your bookkeeping stays where it is today — in your bookkeeping system, with your bookkeeper or with your accountant. What Tidoro provides is the documentation for the sales that happen through your website, in a form you can pass on.
When your site sells, books or charges, it creates data that belongs to your accounting records:
Data from your website is stored so it can be retrieved and documented:
Invoices can be downloaded as PDF straight from your dashboard and sent to your bookkeeper or accountant. If you need all your data in a structured, machine-readable format, you can exercise the right to data portability under GDPR Article 20 — contact us and we will provide it. Tidoro does not push data into a bookkeeping system itself.
Run your business and build your online presence with Tidoro — built for businesses across Europe.
